Attorney General Merrick Garland Says White Supremacists Are Top Domestic Violence Threat

Attorney General Merrick Garland told lawmakers Wednesday white
supremacist groups in the U.S. pose a growing threat.

Attorney General Merrick Garland: "And in the FBI's view, the top
domestic violent extremist threat we face comes from racially or
ethnically motivated violent extremists, specifically those who advocate
for the superiority of the white race."

Garland also told the Senate Appropriations Committee the deadly January
6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol was the most "dangerous threat to
democracy" he has witnessed.
