Senate Confirms Vanita Gupta as Associate Attorney General

Back in the U.S., the Senate confirmed Vanita Gupta to be associate
attorney general Wednesday in a narrow 51-49 vote, after Alaska
Republican Lisa Murkowski joined with Democrats. Gupta, a civil rights
attorney, will be the first Indian American and first woman of color to
assume the role.
