Court Throws Out Death Sentence for Raymond Riles, Texas's Longest-Serving Death Row Prisoner

Texas's top criminal court has thrown out the death sentence of the
state's longest-serving death row prisoner. Seventy-year-old Raymond
Riles, who is African American, was sentenced to die for murdering a
Houston used car salesman in 1974. Riles suffers from mental illness and
has been repeatedly deemed too mentally incompetent to be put to death.
