Pentagon to Draw Down U.S. Troops in Iraq

The Pentagon says it will reduce the number of U.S. troops in Iraq from
about 5,200 to 3,000 during the month of September. The drawdown comes
nine months after the Trump administration ignored an order by Iraq's
parliament for all U.S. troops to leave Iraq, following the
assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in January on
President Trump's order.
