Senate Republicans Abandon New Stimulus Checks Despite Economic Crisis

On Capitol Hill, Senate Majority Leader Mitch Mc Connell has abandoned a
plan to send a new round of stimulus checks to help Americans suffering
from the nation's worst economic collapse since the Great Depression. On
Tuesday, Mc Connell unveiled a slimmed-down $500 billion economic relief
package. House Democrats say at least $2.2 trillion in spending is
needed.
