Antarctic Ice Melt May Bring 8 Feet of Sea Level Rise Even If Paris Climate Goals Are Met

In climate news, a new study in the journal Nature finds melting of the
Antarctic ice sheet will cause global sea levels to rise by more than
eight feet - even if nations meet their emissions reduction goals under
the Paris climate accord.

In California, Governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday signed a bill to phase
out all gas-powered cars by 2035. Meanwhile, a new Oxfam report finds
the wealthiest 1% of the world's population is responsible for emitting
twice as much greenhouse gas as the poorest half of humanity.
