Tropical Storm Beta Makes Landfall as Record-Breaking Atlantic Storm Season Continues

Texas has issued disaster declarations in over two dozen counties, and
Louisiana has declared a state of emergency, as Tropical Storm Beta made
landfall late Monday, causing flooding along the coastline and washing
away a Galveston, Texas, pier. The Atlantic's record-breaking hurricane
season this year marks just the second time in history meteorologists
have had to start naming storms using the Greek alphabet, after
exhausting possible names from letters A to W.
