White Bar Owner in Omaha Who Killed Black Protester Dies by Suicide

In Nebraska, a white bar owner who was indicted last week in the fatal
shooting of James Scurlock, a Black protester, died by suicide. Jake
Gardner died Sunday, the day he was due to turn himself in to
authorities. James Scurlock was shot dead on May 30 during protests over
the killing of George Floyd. He was 22 years old.
