Minneapolis Officer Who Killed George Floyd Released from Jail on $1 Million Bond

Derek Chauvin, the white former Minneapolis police officer who killed
George Floyd, was released from custody Wednesday after posting a $1
million bond. Chauvin faces a second-degree murder charge for pressing
his knee into Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes, in a video since
seen around the world. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called out the
National Guard Wednesday evening as hundreds marched on Minneapolis's
5th Police Precinct to protest Chauvin's release.
