Rikers Employees Disciplined over Death of Layleen Polanco, Afro-Latinx Trans Woman

In the United States, 17 employees at Rikers Island will face
disciplinary action for the death of Layleen Polanco, a transgender
Afro-Latinx woman who was found dead in her jail cell in June last year.
Four officers were suspended without pay.
