Tennessee Lawmakers Approve Near-Total Ban on Abortions

In reproductive rights news, Tennessee lawmakers passed a bill Friday
banning abortion as early as six weeks of pregnancy - before most people
even know they are pregnant. The bill, which Republican Governor Bill
Lee is expected to sign, would criminalize abortion providers, who could
face up to 15 years in jail and a $10,000 fine. Several groups,
including Planned Parenthood and the ACLU, immediately challenged the
move.
