July 13, 2020 First Federal Execution in 17 Years Set for Today in Indiana ------------------------------------------------------------ In Indiana, prison officials are set to carry out the first federal execution in nearly two decades today. A federal judge had suspended the lethal injection on Friday, after the victims' family members said they were afraid to travel during the coronavirus pandemic to bear witness to the execution.
