In Afghanistan, U.S. and Taliban Start Partial Truce

In Afghanistan, the U.S. military and the Taliban have begun a week-long
partial truce ahead of the expected, long-anticipated peace deal. The
U.N. said in a report released Saturday that over 10,000 civilians were
killed or injured from the ongoing conflict in 2019, and over 100,000
civilians have been killed or injured over the past 10 years.
