India Records Its Highest One-Day Coronavirus Toll

India recorded 904 deaths over the past 24 hours. It's the biggest
single-day total since the pandemic began. Eight coronavirus patients
died in a hospital fire in the state of Gujarat. The total COVID-19
death toll in India has now surpassed 40,000, the fifth-highest total in
the world.
