Mass Protests in Mauritius as Environmental Toll From Oil Tanker Spill Worsens

In Mauritius, tens of thousands protested Saturday over the government's
response to a catastrophic oil spill last month. The discovery of dozens
of dead dolphins and melon-headed whales has compounded public anger and
demands for an impartial investigation. Conservationists have warned the
spill from the Japanese fuel tanker MV Wakashio threatens protected
coral reefs and a number of endangered species.
