Family of Elijah McClain Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Aurora, CO

In Aurora, Colorado, the family of Elijah Mc Clain, a 23-year-old Black
young man who was killed by police last year, has filed a lawsuit
against the officers and paramedics involved in his death. Mc Clain was
stopped by police on August 24, 2019, as he was walking home from buying
iced tea for his brother. He was tackled by police, placed in a
chokehold, and later injected with ketamine by paramedics. He died on
August 30, after days on life support. An online petition demanding
justice for Mc Clain has collected over 5 million signatures.
