U.N. to Probe Human Rights Abuses in Chile Amid Mass Protests

The United Nations is sending a team to Chile to investigate allegations
of human rights abuses against anti-government protesters following
weeks of massive demonstrations nationwide over inequality, crippling
wages and the rising cost of healthcare and education. At least 18
people have been killed since protests erupted on Oct. 19, amid mounting
reports of brutality and torture by Chilean authorities.
