July 11, 2019 Federal Court Throws Out Emoluments Lawsuit Against President Trump ------------------------------------------------------------------- A federal appeals court in Virginia has dismissed a lawsuit against President Trump arguing he broke the Constitution's anti-corruption clauses by profiting from his hotel business in Washington, D.C. A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit ruled that Trump's continued ownership of the Trump International Hotel did not violate the foreign and domestic emoluments clauses of the Constitution.
