John Lewis Diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

Civil rights leader and Democratic Georgia Congressmember John Lewis has
been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Congressmember Lewis is a
civil rights legend. In 1965, he was beaten almost to death by Alabama
state troopers as he attempted to lead a voting rights march from Selma
to Montgomery, Alabama. On Sunday, Lewis vowed to continue his work in
Congress, and said, "I have been in some kind of fight - for freedom,
equality, basic human rights - for nearly my entire life. I have never
faced a fight quite like the one I have now."
