Rosa Parks Honored with New Statue in Montgomery, Alabama

In Alabama, civil rights leader Rosa Parks was honored this weekend with
a new statue in downtown Montgomery. 64 years ago, on December 1, 1955,
Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white man and
move to the back of the bus. Sunday also marked the second annual Rosa
Parks Day in Alabama. The Alabama state legislature approved the holiday
last year.
