Human Rights Group to Bail Out Over 500 from Rikers Island

The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights group has announced plans to bail out
more than 500 women and teenagers from Rikers Island in New York in an
attempt to show how the current bail system criminalizes poverty. The
group's president Kerry Kennedy said "There are no wealthy people on
Rikers Island, because if you are wealthy, you go free because you make
bail."
