U.S. Admitted 22,000 Refugees in FY 2018, Lowest Number in 40 Years

The State Department confirmed Tuesday that the U.S. admitted just over
22,000 refugees during the last fiscal year, the lowest number in four
decades. The number of refugees resettled in the U.S. was half of the
Trump administration's cap for the year of 45,000, a number that itself
would have been among the lowest on record.
