Hawaii: Geologists Warn Worst Could be Yet to Come as Kilauea Erupts

In Hawaii, officials are struggling to distribute thousands of gas masks
to residents of the state's Big Island, after the Kilauea volcano
erupted violently Thursday, spewing ash high into the atmosphere and
throwing huge rocks hundreds of meters from the volcano's crater.
Although Thursday's explosion was dramatic and led to a surge in toxic
sulfur dioxide gas and choking ash, geologists are warning that even
more powerful eruptions might soon take place.
