In Reversal, Trump Trying to Save Chinese Company Hit by U.S. Sanctions

President Trump says he's working to prevent the collapse of the Chinese
electronics company ZTE, which has admitted to violating U.S. sanctions
by shipping U.S. technology to Iran and North Korea. The U.S. banned
American companies from selling technology to ZTE last month, causing
the company to announce it would suspend operations. But on Sunday Trump
tweeted, "President Xi of China, and I, are working together to give
massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business,
fast. Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been
instructed to get it done!" Trump's move comes ahead of high-level trade
talks between the U.S. and China later this week.
