Federal Reserve Raises Interest Rates Amid Rising Wages

Back in the United States, the Federal Reserve on Wednesday raised
interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point, in the first such
hike since Fed Chair Jerome Powell replaced Janet Yellen as head of the
U.S. central bank. Powell signaled the Fed is prepared to raise rates
two more times this year-amid pressure from investors who fear that
rising wages for blue-collar workers could add to inflation.
