Israel Considers Bill to Criminalize Filming Israeli Soldiers

Reporters Without Borders has called on the Israeli parliament to reject
a new bill that would criminalize the taking of photographs and videos
of Israeli soldiers. Violations could result in jail sentences of five
years if the photograph or video harmed the morale of Israel's soldiers
or 10 years in jail if it harmed the security of the state. The bill was
introduced in April after video emerged showing an Israeli soldier
cheering after shooting an unarmed Palestinian in Gaza.
