Mexican Congressional Candidate Assassinated After Debate

In Mexico, a congressional candidate who has promised to crack down on
organized crime was shot in the head and killed just minutes after
leaving a debate last Friday. Fernando Purón was the 112th politician
murdered in Mexico since last September and the first federal candidate
to be assassinated since then.
