Antarctic Ice Melt Speeding Up, Threatening Coastal Cities Worldwide

A new study finds global warming is accelerating the melting of
Antarctica's ice sheet, adding about 200 billion tons of water to the
planet's oceans each year and threatening to inundate coastal
communities around the globe. The findings in the journal Nature reveal
the rate of Antarctica's ice melt has tripled over the past decade, as
the continent surpassed Greenland as the largest contributor to sea
level rise.
