U.S. Intelligence Chiefs Claim Russia Planning to Meddle in 2018 Election

U.S. intelligence officials claimed Tuesday that Russia is likely
planning to meddle in the U.S. 2018 midterm elections. This is U.S.
Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

Dan Coats: "We expect Russia to continue using propaganda, social media,
false flag personas, sympathetic spokesmen and other means to influence,
to try to build on its wide range of operations and exacerbate social
and political fissures in the United States. There should be no doubt
that Russia perceive that its past efforts as successful and views the
2018 U.S. midterm elections as a potential target for Russian influence
operations."

The intelligence community's warnings during Tuesday's Senate
Intelligence Committee hearings contradict President Trump, who has
repeatedly cast doubt on whether Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential
election. Trump is currently under investigation for allegedly colluding
with Russia ahead of the presidential election.
