Colombian Activist Álvaro Pérez Killed Near Venezuela Border

In Colombia, human rights groups are denouncing the assassination of
activist Álvaro Pérez in northern Colombia near the border with
Venezuela last week. He's among an estimated 300 activists and community
organizers who have been murdered in Colombia since November 2016, when
the historic peace deal was signed between the Colombian government and
FARC rebels.
