Ben & Jerry's Signs Labor Agreement Protecting Farmworkers

And dairy workers who supply ice cream maker Ben & Jerry's have signed a
labor agreement that will see new protections for the mostly immigrant
farmworkers in Vermont. The legally binding deal, known as the Milk with
Dignity Program, creates a farmworker-authored code of conduct for Ben
and Jerry's supply chain, gives workers a bonus in each paycheck and
creates a third-party monitoring agency to enforce the agreement.
