NC Governor Vetoes Bill Limiting Factory Farm Liability for Toxins

In North Carolina, Democratic Governor Roy Cooper on Friday vetoed HB
467, a bill that would have shielded factory farms from damages brought
by residents sickened by hog farms. Residents have long complained about
pork producers who collect billions of gallons of untreated pig feces
and urine in cesspools, then dispose of the waste by spraying it into
the air.
