Trump Claims He Has No Taped Conversations with Fired FBI Director

In more news from Washington, D.C., President Trump said Thursday he
does not have tapes of his conversations with former FBI Director James
Comey, whom Trump fired amid an FBI probe into alleged Russian meddling
in November's election. In a Twitter rant last month, Trump threatened
Comey over the possibility of taped conversations, tweeting, "James
Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before
he starts leaking to the press!" In a pair of tweets Thursday, Trump
wrote, "With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance,
intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea
whether there are 'tapes' or recordings of my conversations with James
Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings."
