July 10, 2017 Sen. McCain Says Republican Healthcare Bill is Dead --------------------------------------------------- Arizona Senator John Mc Cain and other Senate Republicans are expressing increasing doubt that they'll be able to push through the Republican healthcare plan, as lawmakers return to Capitol Hill today from a week-long recess. Sen. John Mc Cain: "I think my view is it's probably going to be dead. But I am-I've been wrong. I thought I'd be president of the United States. But I think-I think I fear that it's going to fail. And then we should convene a Republican conference, say, 'What are we going to do?'" If passed, the Republican Senate healthcare plan could cause 22 million Americans to lose their insurance over the next decade. President Trump has been heavily backing the healthcare plan and, this morning, tweeted, "I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new Health Care bill fully approved and ready to go!" .
