Former Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani Dies at 82

Former Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has died at the
age of 82. He was one of the leaders of the 1979 Iranian revolution and
went on to serve as president from 1989 to 1997. Rafsanjani has long
been one of the most influential political figures in Iran and the
mentor of the current president, Hassan Rouhani, who is up for
re-election this year.
