African Union Votes to Readmit Morocco, Despite Ongoing Occupation of Western Sahara
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The African Union has agreed to readmit Morocco as a full member of the
union-33 years after Morocco quit the bloc over the status of
Morocco-occupied Western Sahara. On Monday, 39 out of 54 states approved
Morocco's return to the union-even though Morocco's occupation
continues. Western Sahara has been occupied for 41 years. Many consider
it to be Africa's last colony.
