China: Protests Erupt Against $6.7 Billion Aluminum Plant

In China, mass protests have erupted against the proposed construction
of a $6.7 billion aluminum plant in a city near the Siberian border. On
Tuesday, thousands of people poured into the streets of Daqing for a
third straight day of protest against the plant over concerns of
pollution. Protesters say there are already two chemical plants in the
city, which they say have caused high levels of pollution.
