Turkey: CEO of Award-Winning Newspaper Cumhuriyet Detained
----------------------------------------------------------

In Turkey, authorities have detained the CEO of the prominent newspaper
Cumhuriyet, which won the 2016 Right Livelihood Award, often referred to
as the alternative Nobel Prize. This comes after Turkish authorities
raided Cumhuriyet's Istanbul office less than two weeks ago, detaining
at least 12 journalists and administrators on terrorism charges.
