Obama Commutes Sentences of 58 Federal Prisoners

President Obama has commuted the sentences of 58 federal prisoners as
part of his push to ease harsh mandatory sentences for nonviolent drug
offenses. Thursday's announcement brings the total number of Obama's
commutations to more than 300, about a third of whom were serving life
sentences.
