DOJ Says South Dakota Holds Thousands in Group Homes Unncessarily

The Justice Department says South Dakota has violated federal law by
holding thousands of people in restrictive group homes unnecessarily. An
investigation found people with disabilities, mental illness or diabetes
are warehoused in nursing homes or long-term care facilities, even
though many are capable of living at home.
