U.N. Security Council Votes to Lift Arms Embargo on Liberia

The U.N. Security Council has voted unanimously to lift sanctions and an
arms embargo against Liberia. The restrictions were put in place in the
early 1990s amid Liberia's 14-year civil war, which killed as many as a
quarter of a million people.
