German Parliament Recognizes 1915 Armenian Genocide

The German Parliament has voted to call the 1915 massacre of Armenians
by Ottoman Turks during World War I a "genocide." The Turkish government
continues to deny the genocide, which saw an estimated 1.5 million
Armenians exterminated through direct killing, starvation, torture and
forced death marches. In response to the German vote, Turkey recalled
its ambassador to Germany and said it would consider further actions.
