June 3, 2016 German Parliament Recognizes 1915 Armenian Genocide --------------------------------------------------- The German Parliament has voted to call the 1915 massacre of Armenians by Ottoman Turks during World War I a "genocide." The Turkish government continues to deny the genocide, which saw an estimated 1.5 million Armenians exterminated through direct killing, starvation, torture and forced death marches.
