Oakland: Second Police Chief Ousted Amid Officer-Involved Sex Scandal

In Oakland, California, a second police chief has been ousted in less
than a week amid a massive scandal in which multiple Oakland police
officers are facing allegations of statutory rape and human trafficking
after allegedly having sex with an underage girl who was working as a
sex worker. On Wednesday, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf removed Ben Fairow
as interim police chief. He had been appointed only six days earlier,
after former Police Chief Sean Whent resigned amid the scandal.
