Bangladesh Arrests More Than 8,500 People in Crackdown

In Bangladesh, authorities say they have arrested more than 8,500 people
over the course of four days as part of a nationwide crackdown they say
is aimed at stopping violence against religious minorities and secular
bloggers. Opponents say Bangladesh is using the effort to target
political dissidents.
