EU Orders Apple Pay $14.5 Billion in Back Taxes to Ireland

European Union officials have ordered Apple to pay $14.5 billion in
unpaid taxes to Ireland-the biggest single tax ruling in EU history. The
European Commission says Apple received an illegal tax break from Irish
officials under which Apple paid a tax rate of 0.005 percent. Apple is
one of the largest technology companies in the world.
