China Ends Its Decades-Long One-Child Policy

China has ended its one-child policy, permitting all families to have
two children for the first time in decades. The one-child policy was
implemented in the 1970s amid China's booming population. The new shift
now comes amid an aging citizenry and a shrinking number of those at
working age.
