U.S. Ship Passes Through Disputed Waters in South China Sea

A U.S. Navy destroyer has entered disputed waters in the South China Sea
in a direct challenge to China's claim over artificial islands in the
region. China says the U.S. maneuvers near the Spratly Islands are
illegal, but the United States says it's defending freedom of navigation
in international waters.
