California: Law Bans Schools from Using "Redskins" as Mascot

And California has become the first state in the country to pass a law
banning public schools from using the term "Redskins" as a team name or
mascot. The law impacts four high schools and comes amid growing
opposition to the name, which Native Americans say is a racist slur.
