Russia Condemns Turkish Downing of Warplane

Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned Turkey's downing of a
Russian warplane near the Syrian border, saying it was "like a stab in
the back delivered by the accomplices of terrorists." Turkey said it
shot down the plane after warning the Russian pilots they were in
Turkish airspace. But Russia says the plane did not stray from Syrian
airspace. The incident marks one of the most serious publicly
acknowledged clashes between a NATO member country and Russia in half a
century.
