Afghan Officials Claim Taliban Leader Mullah Omar Has Died

In news from Afghanistan, the government is investigating reports the
leader of the Taliban, Mullah Omar, has died. Sources within the
government have reportedly told news outlets Omar died two or three
years ago. This is the first time Afghan officials have confirmed
reports of Omar's death. The Taliban has not confirmed the information,
but it has told the BBC that it will soon issue a statement.
